Martha Stewart Wants Mariah Carey To Cool It With Premature Christmas Cheer

Grammy Award-winning singer Mariah Carey is known around the world for her vocals, but in recent years the songstress has also become synonymous with the start of the holiday season. Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has many fans eager to hang up their wreaths and unpack their Christmas tree, but some want the singer to pump her breaks.

Among those who feel that Carey and her merry followers have thrown aside Thanksgiving to kickstart the holiday season is none other than home and entertaining mogul Martha Stewart. During a recent appearance on Today, the self-proclaimed turkey lover came to the defense of Thanksgiving. Her plea came shortly after Carey announced in an Instagram video that the holiday season has begun.

"Mariah, you know me. I am a traditionalist with a twist. And you cannot give up Thanksgiving just cause you don't like turkey," Stewart explained. "I love turkey, and many, many other people love turkey. So do not think that we are gonna give up Thanksgiving just because you say so."

The festive feud has fortunately ended on a cheery note. Upon coming across Stewart's message, Carey clarified that she never planned to bypass Thanksgiving. She then went on to invite the author/television host (along with Snoop Dogg) over for dinner on the holiday.

"Dearest Martha!! NEVER will I give up Thanksgiving!! But we can still start getting into the festive spirit now! P.S I’d love to have you at my Thanksgiving dinner although I’ve yet to be invited to your Thanksgiving extravaganza! And THAT is MAJOR! Esp if Snoop’s coming!" Carey wrote.
