Following on from the success of its previous collections, Martine Rose has released its latest collaboration with shoe brand Clarks.

Known to many for its memories of back-to-school shoe fittings, the high-street footwear veteran has experienced a revitalisation thanks to it's cleverly positioned collaboration with the London-based brand. This collection — the third with Rose in the seat of guest creative director — celebrates Clarks' 200 year anniversary by reimagining three of its classic styles in new iterations.

The campaign, entitled 'Coming up Roses', embodies Martine Rose's juxtaposing approach to blending artistic and sportswear influences with subversive styles. The collection itself features three distinctive styles, constructed with a glossy embossed croc-effect fabric. The Torview, a platform loafer that looks reminiscent of the 1950s Creeper style, comes in a sleek black and burgundy finish.

There's also the square-toe block heels from the collection, designed with an unfinished quality which leaves an exposed seam suggestive of a pair of denim cut-offs. Like the designs from Martine Rose's own collection, this style embodies the brand's Frankenstein-esque approach that often feels as if multiple external parts have been sewn together in an inventive exploration of classic designs.

Then there's the Derby, a reinterpretation of the classic mens dress shoe, also constructed with the exposed seam detail, available in both black and tan crocodile-embossed leather.

The duo released their first edit at the beginning of last year and soon followed up with a second collection in October. This third capsule has taken a more uniform approach than its predecessors, which saw the brand experiment with padded leathers, rounded silhouettes and playful colours. If you missed the previous collection, select pieces are still available online through Selfridges and Farfetch.

'Coming up Roses' is available to shop from Clarks and other retailers now.
