A busy student is wondering if he's to blame after his roommate slept through his alarm during finals.

The 23-year-old brought the question up for discussion in a recent Redditt post on the popular "Am I the A------" subreddit, explaining that he and his roommate Justin (also 23) have been living together for two years.

According to the Reddit user, he and Justin, who are both med students, went through "absolute hell" during their final exam week, which involved "surviving on 2-3 hours of sleep daily, fueled by coffee and energy drinks."

He shared that during their final day of exams, Justin was "unusually exhausted," and before falling asleep at 1 a.m., had asked him to wake him up at 3 a.m.

While the Reddit user agreed to do so, he realized that he himself "was dead" by 2:30 a.m. and decided to wake Justin up early.

"I woke Justin up at 2:30 am and told him the time and suggested he set an alarm so he wouldn't oversleep. Justin sat upright, rubbed his eyes, and nodded and said 'alright,'" according to the post.

After the Reddit user fell asleep "almost instantly," following their conversation, he says they both ended up waking up for the next day at 8 a.m, having set an alarm for 6 and hit the snooze button repeatedly.

"Justin freaked out, accusing me of not waking him up as promised," the poster wrote, noting that "Justin said that he was too sleepy to comprehend what was happening and insisted that I should have stayed awake to wake him at 3 AM or at least made sure he was fully awake before sleeping."

While the Reddit user expressed that he understands Justin's frustration after his exam "didn't go well," he believes he's being "unfair" in blaming him for the incident.

Many people in the comment section seemingly agreed as one person wrote, "Is there a reason Justin couldn’t set an alarm, or several? Also, is there a reason Justin thinks you’re his mother?"
