Meet The Champagne Brand That Fashion Insiders Love
Several things are synonymous with the fashion industry. Among them are diamonds, Chanel and, of course, champagne. But when it comes to champagne, not all were created equally, and Maison Krug is proof of that.
Krug Grande Cuvée is the blended result of a coalition of 120 different plots of wine, and you can taste the difference. The first and only champagne brand to create prestige champagnes every year — and champagnes exclusively — since its foundation in 1843, the brand is a go-to among those in the know, and for good reason too.

A case in point is the brand's recent celebration for the decade celebration of its annual Krug Single Ingredient series. For the uninitiated, the series began in 2014 as a way of the heritage brand proving that champagne wasn't just a tipple to be enjoyed as an aperitivo, but as a standalone accompaniment to meals, too. So, in 2014, the brand tapped three Michelin-starred and Krug ambassador chef, Anne-Sophie Pic, to design one dish centred around one ingredient (in her case, tomato) that would pair perfectly with one glass of Krug champagne. In the intervening years, the brand's Single Ingredient series has continued with potato, egg, mushroom, fish, pepper, onion, rice, lemon and, this year in honour of its decade anniversary, flower.
'In my family, Krug champagne has always been associated with gastronomy. It is no secret that Krug Grande Cuvée offers an almost infinite palette of culinary pairings and pairs with a wide variety of flavours and cuisines,' Olivier Krug, director of Maison Krug, says.
The result is an experience like no other; champagne that washes down food that it perfectly compliments. Not tart nor bitter, eating a meal with Krug as an accompaniment leaves you neither missing nor wanting a glass of wine in its place. This year's menu, which will be available at a series of supper club events to be held across the UK over the next month, features dishes devised by chefs that are, once again, tasked with creating dishes that enhance and are enhanced by the champagnes.
In short, as we head into party season, Krug is the only champagne brand to reach for. So, what're you waiting for?
From November 8 to December 3, Krug’s partner and Ambassador chefs will be hosting a series of four-hand and chef bookable dinners featuring menus inspired by ‘Krug x Flower’ 2024 Single Ingredient theme paired with this year’s Krug Grande Cuvée 172éme Édition and Krug Rosé 28éme Édition.
