There I was, donning my birthday suit, both butt cheeks slathered in Le Tush, thinking: the things I do for work.

Rewind to earlier in the day when my Megababe Le Tush Clarifying Butt Mask arrived in the mail. As something of a niche beauty products connoisseur, I jumped at the chance to try out the butt mask, a product I had seen all over social media and was reminded of when I heard Megababe's founder Katie Sturino talk on one of my favourite podcasts.

If you've never come across Le Tush on your own Instagram feed, the unique beauty product has gone viral since its debut for its ability to banish unsightly butt bumps. With bikini season in full swing, I took it as my journalistic duty to try out the mask and see once and for all: would Le Tush give me the tush of my dreams?

What is it?

Megababe's Le Tush Butt Mask is a facial-grade mask that's designed for, you guessed it, your derrière.

The clarifying butt mask combines glycolic, malic, and azelaic acids with exfoliating beads to give your tush a glow-up. More specifically, Le Tush is designed to tackle dry skin, tiny butt bumps, and butt acne (or butt'ne, as the cool internet kids refer to it as).

While marketed as a butt mask, Le Tush is safe for whatever below-the-neck areas require a little TLC. Additionally, nothing is advising against applying the mask to your face, except the knowing that you're tackling your T-zone with a butt mask.

Megababe suggests applying the mask to clean and dry skin for up to three minutes before hopping in the shower and then massaging in a circular motion until Le Tush has been washed away.

First impressions

I'm not going to lie, I was weirdly nervous to try the butt mask. Offbeat beauty products are usually my jam, but applying a mask south of the border was unique beyond measure for me.

With that being said, in the name of journalism, I slathered Le Tush all over my tush and waited the recommended three-minute beautifying period.

First impressions: the butt mask low-key reminded me of Vicks VapoRub. Whether it was the strong eucalyptus scent or the slight tingling sensation, I had childhood VapoRub flashbacks while waiting for my three minutes to pass.

The product came off easily in the shower, and, I have to say, my butt did feel smoother post-mask. It felt similar to washing off a face mask and feeling that post-cleanse clean. While three minutes may seem like a short period of time, the formula is quite strong, and I found that if you kept it on for longer, my skin became red.

While I wouldn't say Le Tush made my skin baby-butt-smooth, it definitely felt soft and pampered after I came out of the shower and moisturized.

With an average rating of 4.5 stars, Ulta shoppers rave that their "cheeks have never looked so good," thanks to Le Tush.

"I never write reviews, but this product inspired me," writes one shopper. "I have struggled with breakouts on my butt, which are equally embarrassing and frustrating. I've tried almost every home remedy, then stumbled upon this. I'm three uses in and HOLY GAME CHANGER. If you're thinking about pulling the trigger, do it, you won't regret it."

"Whenever I notice I have a few bumps on my bum, I use this in the shower as directed, and by the time I wake up the next morning, the bumps are dried up!!" Writes another user. "I find that I don't get the bumps as often since I have been using this product. I have tried so many things throughout my life to get rid of these bumps, and this is the only thing that has helped."

"I have Keratosis Pilaris [...] and this product has singlehandedly changed my complexion."

While perhaps not its original intention, users who struggle with Keratosis Pilaris say Le Tush has been a skin saver. "I have Keratosis Pilaris on my bum, and this product has singlehandedly changed my complexion," writes one Megababe user.

"I use it regularly on my upper arms where I have [Keratosis Pilaris]," echos another. "The best part of this stuff is that it has a little bit of physical exfoliant on top of the powerful chemical stuff. Scrubbing it off in the shower feels so nice, and I feel really clean afterwards. Highly recommend!"

Whether you struggle with butt'ne, Keratosis Pilaris, or simply want to give your tush some love, Megababe's Le Tush Clarifying Butt Mask is more than just a fun gag gift. Ulta users rave that Le Tush has transformed their skin and boosted their confidence, and my experience echos that sentiment.

While I can provide no photographic proof (keeping it PG, y'all!), Le Tush gave me a Kardashian-esque booty glow, and for that, I give it my seal of approval.
