After an almost 8-year break from social media, Meghan Markle has returned to Instagram and is set to launch her own lifestyle show on Netflix in the near future – and her third online post is a touching glimpse into family life with Prince Harry, Archie and Lilibet.

Heartbreakingly, Meghan has shared a moving post about the loss of her rescue dog, Guy, who she adopted back in 2015. In a montage video and the accompanying caption, the Duchess discussed her grief and shared snippets of her children with their much loved pet.

In parts, Archie and Lili can be seen walking and playing with the pup, and in one clip Archie can be heard worrying about Guy falling during a car trip, to which Meghan replies, "He's not going to fall, don't you worry. Mama's got him. Thank you for being such a good boy."

Further audio features Meghan and one of her children singing, "We love you Guy, oh yes we do, we love you Guy and we'll be true, when you're not near us we're blue."

Writing in her caption, Meghan said, "I have cried too many tears to count - the type of tears that make you get in the shower with the absurd hope that the running water on your face will somehow make you not feel them, or pretend they’re not there. But they are. And that’s okay too."

She also referenced her previously popular lifestyle blog, The Tig, which some have speculated may crossover in terms of content with her new series, With Love, Meghan.

"If you followed me on instagram back in the day, you saw a lot of [Guy] – and on The Tig too. He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), when I became a mom….he was with me for everything: the quiet, the chaos, the calm, the comfort," the Duchess said.

"Because many of you will now see Guy in this new series, I hope you’ll come to understand why I am so devastated by his loss. I think you may fall a little bit in love too."
