So this is why Meghan Markle never wears nylons

The Duchess of Sussex looked lovely in a peachy nude ensemble as she paid her first visit as patron to the National Theatre in London — but it’s her bare legs that are raising eyebrows.

Despite the chilly English temperatures, the expectant mother chose not to wear nylons, which is a major faux pas with her grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth.

“You never see a royal without their nude stockings,” royal expert Victoria Arbiter told Insider. “I would say that’s really the only hard, steadfast rule in terms of what the Queen requires.”

And, according to insiders, there’s a reason that the soon-to-be mom can go stocking free, even in chilly temperatures: spray on tights!

“It looks like Megan has used a product such as Vita Liberata Body Blur,” a celebrity makeup artist told the Daily Mail. “This is a must have product for a superior finish. It offers a natural coverage with a slight skin tint to mask any blemishes or imperfections. It contains light reflecting particles, hence why she has a beautiful sheen.”

“It is a very similar product to ‘air stockings,’ or spray-on tights,” she continued. “They mask imperfections and hydrate the skin, giving a subtle glow.”

It’s not the first time Meghan’s chosen to go sans stockings. This past summer she looked breathtaking in a chic black tuxedo dress by Judith & Charles that had a notably higher hemline than her other looks for a charity performance of Hamilton.

And who could forget this stunning denim Carolina Herrera number that matched hubby’s Prince Harry’s look?

Meghan made a surprise appearance to support Prince Harry as he competed in the Sentebale Polo match. She wore a belted denim dress by Carolina Herrera, Aquazzura pumps, and carried a J. Crew basket clutch.

While her sister-in-law Kate Middleton chooses to wear stockings for most occasions, there has been the odd time the Duchess of Cambridge has opted to go bare-legged.

Perhaps the nude stocking rule is fading out as new royals come in!
