Even the royals need to get away from it all every now and then, and in the case of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the two were welcomed into Elton John’s stunning home in Nice, France. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex spent quality time with their 3-month-old son, Archie, in the 1920s home with views of the bay and to the Alps, according to Architectural Digest.

On August 19, the British singer-songwriter spoke out about the royal family’s visit to his French real estate, which he owns with husband David Furnish. “After a hectic year continuing their hard work and dedication to charity, David and I wanted the young family to have a private holiday inside the safety and tranquility of our home,” Elton tweeted.

The 72-year-old describes it as a “summer house,” and it can definitely be called that with its joyful yellow exterior, a pool area surrounded by cozy lounging chairs, and flowering vines. Though the outside blossoms with color, Elton wanted the interior décor to be mostly white, specifically asking the vibe to be, “like an empty canvas before the artist applies paint.

An impressive art collection decorates the home, contrasting against the crisp white sofa fabric, and the billowing white curtains covering oversized windows. In an event of a party, Elton has assured that the dining room is ready for every occasion, with the chairs having eight sets of slipcovers to coordinate with 14 sets of china. And we can be almost certain that Archie was kept away far from them during his stay.
