Is this why Meghan Markle is wearing so much pink?

It turns out, there may be a psychological link to Meghan Markle’s latest fashion choices.

Since tying the knot to Prince Harry in May, the Duchess of Sussex has been sporting several blush pink outfits to her formal royal engagements.

Now, a colour expert says there may be more to Markle’s preference for the soft shade than meets the eye.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, applied colour psychology practitioner Karen Haller explained,‘She’s sub-consciously communicating through colour that she’s clearly in love. Soft pinks communicate the nurturing, compassionate, caring side of love. I’m not at all surprised she is feeling this way given the body language between her and Prince Harry – and she is reflecting this in picking the softer pinks.”

Prior to her wedding, Markle wore many dark colours like navy, black and grey, as well as more contemporary designs.

Now, the Duchess seems to be opting for more feminine looks in lighter colours, which Haller believes could be related to her new public role.

The number of high profile engagements Meghan has had since officially becoming a member of the royal family would no doubt be quite nerve wracking,” Haller said. “As the softer end of the pink spectrum is physically soothing, it’s the perfect antidote to calming those nerves and easing the pulse rate.”

Haller’s insight does make sense. Markle first wore a light blush dress by Goat and hat by Philip Treacy to a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate Prince Charles’s 70th birthday just days after her high profile wedding. Earlier this month, Markle seemed visibly nervous during her first Trooping the Colour balcony appearance alongside extended members of the royal family while wearing a blush Carolina Herrera ensemble.

Now, in her latest appearance, Markle wore a double-breasted blush dress by Prada to a reception for the Young Leaders ceremony alongside the Queen.

The common thread in all three appearances? All three took place at Buckingham Palace – a very public and prestigious location.

Whether it’s nerves, love or simply the summer season, Markle is finding her way in the spotlight and truly sticking to what works.
