Meghan Markle's 2018 wardrobe: The Duchess' most expensive outfits

The Duchess of Sussex has brought a whole new dimension to royal style this year, making clear her love of clean lines, neutrals and trouser suits.

Meghan, 37, has proved to be a master of diplomatic dressing and introduced us to little-known fashion labels, in addition to representing American and Canadian designers. The mum-to-be was born and raised in the US and spent around six years in Toronto, Canada, while filming ‘Suits’.

The Duchess also paid tribute to her London, since moving here at the start of the year and has worn pieces from a number of British-based designers, including Stella McCartney, Erdem and Emilia Wickstead as well as accessories from Strathberry, Charlotte Elizabeth and DeMellier.

Meghan’s also cemented her relationship with Givenchy’s creative director Clare Waight Keller, who created her wedding dress. Meghan turns to Keller for bespoke pieces, particularly for high-profile and important engagements.

But, being a former Hollywood actress and a royal does mean that her wardrobe carries a hefty price tag. By all accounts, Meghan’s 2018 wardrobe has proved to be far more expensive than her stylish sister-in-law’s.

Thanks to her wedding, royal tour of Australia and a wealth of formal events, the cost of the Duchess’ ensembles has crept into the thousands.

Notable outfits from the year include the newlywed’s two bridal gowns and a particularly show-stopping Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress, which she wore in Australia.
