Mexican restaurants for Cinco de Mayo in the Myrtle Beach area, according to travel sites

“(It’s) is going to be a fiesta party,” said Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant Manager Manny Espinoza.

Indeed, a festive weekend is fast approaching in the Myrtle Beach area.

Cinco de Mayo, an annual celebration of the Mexican army’s victory over the French army May 5, 1862, is in a week. Many Myrtle Beach area locals and visitors will want to mark the occasion with a trip to a Mexican restaurant.

While some may have their favorite place, many visitors might need to find a good eatery to go to. There are many options up and down the Grand Strand for interested parties, and rating websites like Tripadvisor and Yelp provide rankings of restaurants. According to Tripadvisor and Yelp, these were the best Mexican restaurants:

Many of the recommended restaurants will have specials for the holiday. Espinoza said Fiesta Mexicana will have Happy Hour from 4-7 p.m. and live music from 11-11 p.m. for Cinco de Mayo. A first-come, first-serve eatery, Espinoza said the restaurant is also offering a two-shot for $12 special.

Margaritas will also have specials, Manager Felipe Onate said. He added Happy Hour will be all day from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with $4 imported beers, lime margaritas and $3 domestic drafts.

However, not all top-recommended eateries will be open. Tracey Boyle with Sun City Cafe said the eatery will be closed for Cinco de Mayo, as it is closed on Sundays.
