It’s no surprise that an iconic actress-turned-fragrance brand owner like Michelle Pfeiffer is well-versed in beauty world — more specifically, the clean beauty world.

In a recent interview with Glamour, the 63-year-old revealed that if she could only use three products for the rest of her life it would be sunblock, mascara and Merit’s Minimalist Perfecting and Complexion Stick.

“I’ve been trying this new brand lately that was sent to me called Merit, and they have this product—it’s their idea of a cover stick,” she says. “Rather than applying makeup everywhere, it’s about going in and covering those bad spots, and layering it where you need it most.”

What is it?

The clean-beauty brand isn’t a stranger to creating vegan and cruelty-free products, and definitely continues that formula in their Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick. Packed with fatty acids to lock in moisture and sea daffodil extract to reduce pigmentation and dark spots, this beauty product gives you an alternative to full-coverage formulas without compromising your skin.

Available in 20 shades, you’re guaranteed to find a shade that works for you—while leaving you with a hydrating texture, without the caked-on look, that’ll last the whole day.

What others are saying

Pfeiffer isn’t the only fan of this beauty must-have. On average, the Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Stick has an average 4-star rating from Sephora shoppers.

While some reviewers have praised the product for its ability to seamlessly blend and colour match, others have also praised the Merit Minimalist Perfection Complexion stick for keeping their skin from drying out.

“I love that it comes in stick form! That's one of the primary reasons I bought it so I could do touch-ups on the go,” said one five-star reviewer.

Another reviewer also praised the product for how “it’s buildable without being heavy and still provides a natural look,” while also holding up “throughout the day without melting off.”

Some reviewers have taken issue with the complexion stick's packaging, which while housed in recycled plastic, may not be the most environmentally-friendly. Others have also found that the stick doesn't house a ton of product, making the $49 CAD/$38 USD price tag seem like a steep investment.

The verdict

If you're looking for a natural correcting stick without the cake, you'll want to get your hands Merit’s Minimalist Perfecting and Complexion Stick. However, keep in mind that as this product isn't meant to be used for full coverage, some users have mentioned for the price you’re not getting the most product.

If you’re looking for something easy-to-use while on-the-go, this is a beauty must-have for those quick touchups and fixes.
