This mom refuses to “bounce back” after giving birth

There is no shortage of motherhood and post-baby body talk online these days, but this mom is turning all our heads with an honest post on Facebook. Olivia White – the “House of White” blogger and mother of two small children – wants everyone to know that she’s 0% ashamed of what her body looks like post-pregnancy. She also wants to send the message that she’s not trying to change what her figure looks like anytime soon.

“I’m not the same person I was before I had babies, so why would I want my body to reflect something and someone I no longer am?”

“Puffy face, droopy milk-filled boobs, wider hips, and belly full of stretch marks!! That’s my post-baby reality, no ‘bouncing back’ here!”

She then wrote, “I couldn’t give a shit!” This beautifully serves as a piece of encouragement for anyone who has either just given birth or is experiencing bodily changes due to pregnancy.

The mom continued by stating that if her boobs are saggy, it’s because she’s breastfed her children to make them strong and healthy. If she’s got wrinkles and stretch marks, it’s because she miraculously carried those babies in her belly for 9 months. The more you think about how a woman’s body can do these amazing things, the more you’ll realize how silly it is that we would think these changes were a negative thing. To put it simply: Moms. Are. Amazing.

“It might not be the ‘transformation’ body so many ogle or aspire to!”

Yet, Olivia doesn’t care about that. She doesn’t need to work toward any kind of goal to feel good about her beautiful body.

“And sure, some days I wish it didn’t jiggle so much and was a bit ‘firmer’ but then I just remember the awesome shit it’s done and cut myself some slack and go eat a cheeseburger, because we earned it.”

The mom perfectly ends her post with the hashtag #LoveWhatMatters. Well, we officially love you, Olivia – that’s for sure.
