More than 120 people have so far signed up to a challenge to raise money for a dementia charity.

It is the third year that Dementia Jersey has held its 50 Mile Challenge.

People have until the end of January to walk, run or skip 50 miles (80.47km).

In 2024, about 220 people completed the challenge.

Claudine Snape, the CEO of Dementia Jersey, said "we run a programme of therapeutic activities for people with dementia and their carers" and the funds raised pays for "those things and towards paying some of the staff who deliver those activities".

"Dementia is the fastest growing disease affecting over 65s on the island and we've got an ageing population so we have to do what we can to support all of those families that need our help," Ms Snape added.
