Couture makes people dream, and hair and makeup looks play key roles in creating that magic.

Here is a selection of seminal beauty moments cherrypicked from 25 years worth of runway displays. It starts with Laetitia Casta embodying the blushing bride in Yves Saint Laurent’s spring 1999 couture show and ends with the porcelain-like faces at Maison Margiela Artisanal last season. In between are Chanel’s rocker-chic models for spring 2005, paillette-spangled peepers at Viktor & Rolf’s spring 2018 show and Iris van Herpen’s otherworldly creatures for fall 2022.
