Unforgettable Kate Spade fashion moments, from the Middleton sisters to the Olsen twins

Last night, famed accessories designer Kate Spade sadly passed away in an apparent suicide.

In response to the heartbreaking news, the fashion world took to social media to share fond memories of the icon and to give condolences to her family at this tragic time.

The overwhelming love for the 55-year-old hints at the lasting influence Kate has had on the industry thanks to her now-legendary handbags.

After co-founding her company with husband, Andy Spade, she opened her first store back in 1994 and now, there are over 140 stores in the US alone and a further 175 on an international scale.

And despite selling her namesake company more than a decade ago, famous faces and royals alike have continued to embrace the brand.

Back in 1998, the Olsen’s posed for a now-famous red carpet photocall in co-ordinating outfits with twinning Kate Spade handbags in tow.

Before the US label made pop culture history in the year 2000, when ‘Sex and the City”s Charlotte joked that she couldn’t fit tampons into her Kate Spade clutch.

From a ‘Gossip Girl’ cameo to the Duchess of Cambridge’s Buckingham Palace-approved wardrobe, these are the most memorable Kate Spade fashion moments of all time.
