Mountain Dew Is Giving Away Free Soda for the Rest of the Year
But of course there’s a catch.
Calling all Mountain Dew fans! If you love the taste of this classic citrus soda, you’ll want to listen up. The brand is giving away free Mountain Dew for the rest of the year, albeit with a bit of a travel-related catch.
Mountain Dew has long been known to shake things up, releasing its limited-edition Infinite Swirl soda exclusively at 7-Eleven, a line of patriotic drinks, and a Dew-infused Hot Habanero sauce.
And while we love seeing new riffs on the caffeinated classic, sometimes it's nice to sip the original (especially when it's free). Here’s what you need to know to get your hands on free Mountain Dew while you can.
How To Score Free Mountain Dew Through the End of the Year
Mountain Dew is on a kick to get more people outdoors to enjoy nature and “Do The Dew” by giving away free drinks for the rest of the year. Caveat: the process to enter isn't necessarily easy breezy. To nab a free Mountain Dew, you’ll need to travel into the Mountain Time Zone, which the brand has recently claimed as its “official, unofficial time zone.”
Starting now through December 31, those who cross into the Mountain Time Zone by foot, plane, or car, can sign up online for a free Mountain Dew.
Here’s how it works: Log onto WelcomeToMtnTime.com, where you can enter your email address before you head out on your trip. Then, once you’re in Mountain time, open the page again to receive a voucher for a free Mountain Dew.
"With the great outdoors at the core of everything we do, we want to encourage everyone to embrace the Mountain Time mindset by giving away free Mountain Dew to anyone who crosses into the Mountain Time Zone," said JP Bittencourt, Vice President of Marketing at Mountain Dew in a recent press release.
Once you make your way into the Mountain Time Zone, you’ll be able to see Mountain Dew’s new campaign on billboards in airports and throughout the mountain states, showcasing its new brand character, "The Mountain Dude," who will show you the way to enjoying the great outdoors with your free soda in hand.
Or, MOVE to the Mountain Time Zone for the Chance To Win Free Mountain Dew for a Year
In an additional, even more extreme portion of the Mountain Time promotion, Mountain Dew will cover the moving expenses (up to $10,000) of five lucky winners who are relocating to (not just visiting) the Mountain Time Zone. These fortunate ones will also get free Mountain Dew for a year—sure to energize them in their unpacking and of course, many Mountain time adventures. Winners will also receive a Mountain Dew Outdoor Gear welcome package "so they can live life to the fullest in the Mountain Time Zone." You can find all the details in Mountain Dew's press release.
