Estée Lauder CEO announces retirement
Fabrizio Freda will retire from his position as President and CEO of The Estée Lauder Companies at the end of the 2025 fiscal year, the company announced, noting that its board of directors is well into the process of selecting his replacement. "Leading The Estée Lauder Companies for sixteen years, is and has been, a true honor and privilege," Freda said, in a statement. Kendall Jenner helps introduce new Tory Burch fragrance
Kendall Jenner is the face of Sublime, the latest fragrance by Tory Burch, which reflects the designer's vision of women today as they balance sensuality and strength. "Sublime is the ultimate way you want to feel: confident, sensual, strong," Burch said, in a statement. "It is a word and an emotion that has no ending... It makes you feel like anything is possible." Nara Smith is the face of Aritzia Sweatfleece campaign
Aritiza made Nara Smith an honorary scientist at its Institute for Soft Science for its latest Sweatfleece campaign. Fashion Scholarship Fund names head of Virgil Abloh 'Post-Modern' Scholarship Fund
Farai Simoyi was appointed the head of the Virgil Abloh "Post-Modern" Scholarship Fund and Equity on Aug. 19, WWD reports. She'll oversee the scholarship program and its growth, as well as lead pilot programs to support Black talent in the industry, working alongside Shannon Abloh and Peter Arnold. Simoyi brings two decades of experience as a designer, educator and business development leader. {WWD/paywalled}

Ted Baker closes the last of its stores
The remaining 31 Ted Baker stores are set to shut their doors by the end of the day on Tuesday, Aug. 20, according to the BBC, putting 500 jobs at risk. No Ordinary Designer Label, which owns the brand, went into administration in March; sales had already been declining after allegations of inappropriate behavior were made against founder Rey Kelvin in 2019. It's unclear if US-based Authentic Brands Group, which owns Ted Baker intellectual property, will revive the brand. {BBC}
