The woman tasked with creating the next Hermès "it" bag
Hermès has made handbag history with its Kelly and Birkin bags, and now Priscila Alexandre Spring, creative director of leather goods at Hermès since 2020, is tasked with creating the next iconic style. Alexandre Spring shared her design process with Marisa Meltzer for The New York Times, likening it to a pingpong game: She will create a sketch, bring it to the prototype makers and then discuss each detail. Alexandre Spring and her team produce 10 new bags for each season, and they are currently experimenting with incorporating ropes into the designs. {The New York Times}
