Myrtle Beach among best places to live in South Carolina. It beat out well-known cities
If you are looking to move to South Carolina, chances are that you’ve chosen Myrtle Beach as your relocation city.
It’s not surprising. Thousands of people move to this coastal city each year, making it one of the top cities in the country with the highest number of move-ins.
And now, for 2025, Myrtle Beach ranks among the top 10 cities as the best places to live in South Carolina.
Myrtle Beach ranked No. 3 on Houzeo’s list of top South Carolina cities, just behind Charleston and Columbia, which ranked No. 1 and 2 respectively.
Myrtle Beach is 7% more affordable than the rest of the country, according to Houzeo, a technology company that offers products and services for home sellers and buyers. The survey also says that the city offers ample job opportunities in the tourism, healthcare and real estate.
However, it should be noted that the average hourly wage in Myrtle Beach is $21 and the average salary is about $42,000 a year, according to ZipRecruiter. Houzeo has the city with an average median household income of a little more than $50,000 a year.
Myrtle Beach has a median home price of $283,000, according to Houzeo.
