Naked Farmer set to open new restaurant at UTC with a fresh farm-to-table experience
University Town Center’s newest restaurant is set to open Wednesday.
Naked Farmer, located at 215 N. Cattlemen Road #58 next to Blaze Pizza, offers a farm-to-table dining experience. The storefront at UTC’s West District is the franchise’s seventh location.
Naked Farmer began in St. Petersburg in 2020. The restaurant’s other locations are in the Tampa Bay and South Florida areas.
The Sarasota spot features indoor and outdoor dining, pick-up, delivery, and catering.
“UTC has become a hub for health and wellness, with its variety of fitness studios, free weekly outdoor workout classes and proximity to Nathan Benderson Park, so it was a natural choice for us to grow into this area and serve the health-conscious community,” Naked Farmer founder Jordan Johnson said in a news release.
A farm-to-table restaurant means the ingredients and food are directly sourced through a farm. Naked Farmer’s direct-to-farm supply chain has farms in Florida and the greater Southeast region. Menu items are cooked from scratch daily and meals start at $11.
“We’re grateful to be a small part of it as we continue our mission to build a better food system in the area’s premier lifestyle center,” Johnson said in the news release. “We look forward to connecting local farmers to the community and providing our new neighbors in Sarasota with increased access to locally sourced, farm-fresh food.”
The press release said they are known for having a vegetable-forward menu with seasonal ingredients harvested in as little as 24 hours before being served.
Some current summer menu options include street cart corn, chili-crunch green beans and farmer’s panzanella, a type of Tuscan or Umbrian chopped salad.
