Naomi Campbell Turned Heads in Another Sparkling Silver Gown in France
Naomi Campbell has brought her signature Old Hollywood style to France this year—and not just on the Cannes red carpet.
Amid her stay on the French Riviera for this year's Cannes Film Festival, the supermodel attended the Red Sea International Film Festival’s Women’s Stories Gala held in the neighboring French town of Cap d'Antibes, where she continued her streak of dazzling ensembles. For last night's star-studded event, Campbell wore a shimmering fringe gown featuring a statement black bow at the waist, and paired the shining piece with coordinating silver hoops and black stilettos. She completed the look with a sleek half-up hairstyle.
Campbell was joined at the event by fellow A-listers including Katie Holmes, who showcased her own sophisticated style for the evening in a sleek double-breasted blazer paired with bright pink Manolo Blahnik pumps, which brought a pop of color to her otherwise all-black ensemble.
Last night's look was but a continuation of Campbell's sparkling ensembles throughout this year's film festival. Earlier this week, on May 16, the model showed out on the Cannes red carpet wearing another shimmering silver gown—this one from Celine—to both the screening of Jeanne du Barry, and later in the evening, the opening ceremony gala dinner held at the Carlton Hotel.
The model's recent ensembles from this week echo her iconic shimmering looks from years past—most notably her silver Versace dress from the 1996 Met Gala, which had honored all things Haute Couture.
In March, Campbell opened up to Harper's BAZAAR about her signature Old Hollywood style and its lasting influence on fashion, as well as how her modeling career opened doors for her work in activism, philanthropy, and cultural ambassadorship. “I just like what I do,” Campbell said of her career. “I’m privileged at this point in my life that I can choose the things that I do. And I’m also blessed that I still have all these great opportunities offered to me."
“I have nothing to prove,” the model continued. “It’s what I like doing. My work is hard, but it’s joyful at the same time. I’m still enjoying what I do, and that’s also important—to enjoy what you do.”
