Natalie Portman Went Braless Under Her Red Leather Jacket and Miniskirt Set
The look incorporated too many trends to count.
Natalie Portman is an expert in towing the line between trendy and classic on the red carpet. Case in point? The actress has a way of incorporating modern fads into her timeless wardrobe — just look at her cut-out halter gown or her sexy remix on a closet staple. The star did it once again by putting a fresh spin on suit dressing.
On Sunday, she attended the Film Independent Spirit Awards in a red Balmain miniskirt and jacket set with several 2024 updates. First (and probably the most notable) was the outfit's red hue, which has been highly-regarded as the color of the year (and if you don't believe us, just take a look at the awards shows' carpets). The leather set also featured dramatic cap sleeves and giant ornate rosette embellishments along the skirt pockets and chest. Lastly, Portman ditched an undershirt (and bra) entirely and just kept the sheath buttoned at the top, revealing a sliver of skin.

Portman paired the fierce, flirty, and fiery look with matching crimson strappy sandal heels, and accessorized with gold-and-diamond earrings, a matching bangle, and a metal clutch. In the glam department, Portman opted for a thick winged liner, feathered lashes, and a light peach lip. Her brunette hair was slicked back in a curled ponytail.
During the event, Portman was photographed mingling with other attendees, including Will Ferrell, Ali Wong, Andrew Scott, Jurnee Smollett, and director and screenwriter Todd Haynes.
Earlier in awards season, the May December star attended the 2024 Golden Globes in a masterful Dior gown that was another example of Portman's perfectly nuanced fashion sense. The star, who received a nod for her role in the Netflix film, arrived on the red carpet in a gown with multi-colored floral sequins resembling a piece of art from one of the greats like Van Gogh or Monet.
