Any day is a good day for tacos, but societally Tuesdays have become the quintessential day of the week to eat a couple (maybe with a margarita or two.) Few things are better than tortillas filled with meat (or veggies) piled high with cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, and salsa. Hungry yet? Save the date because this Taco Tuesday will be extra special.

National Taco Day is this Tuesday, October 1. The holiday has historically been celebrated on the 4th, regardless of what day of the week it was. However, Taco Bell recently petitioned that the holiday be celebrated on the first Tuesday of October (so it’ll always be a Taco Tuesday) and was successful.

Many businesses are offering major deals, so whether you go for carne asada, chicken, shrimp, or veggie, here’s where you can get a free taco on National Taco Day.

Taco Bell

The iconic chain is celebrating BIG and keeping the party going all month long. To start, on National Taco Day, rewards members can redeem a different taco every hour for $1 with new drops going from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., including menu items like the Chalupa Supreme and Cheesy Gordita Crunch. The festivities will continue throughout the month with additional drops featuring limited edition merchandise and a chance to win a VIP tour of Taco Bell’s headquarters.

7-Eleven’s Laredo Taco Company

The go-to quick mart is launching all new Carnitas Bravas tacos featuring crispy, spicy slow cooked pork in honor of the holiday. Try them out and make it a meal deal (two tacos with a Big Gulp drink) on National Taco Day, or pick up $2 Chicken Fajita tacos instead.

El Pollo Loco

El Pollo Loco is spreading the taco love with a three-day celebration. From October 1-4, Loco Rewards members can get any three chicken tacos for $5 (eligible for orders made in-store, online, or through their app). Plus, free delivery for all online orders on October 1.

Jack in the Box

One day isn’t enough for Jack in the Box. The chain is celebrating tacos all week long from September 30 through October 4, offering Jack Pack members two free Monster Tacos with any $1 purchase.

Chevys Fresh Mex

While Chevy’s hasn’t yet released its deals for National Taco Day at the time of publishing, in the past it has offered a free taco plate with the purchase of another entrée as well as extra happy hour specials.

Del Taco

Del Taco has also yet to announce its deals for National Taco Day at press time. However, in the past the chain has celebrated all month long with “Tacoberfest” filled with weekly deals, so we expect there’ll be at least one free item to look forward to.

Long John Silver’s

While Long John Silver’s hasn’t yet released its deals for National Taco Day at the time of publishing, typically the company gives customers one of its beloved fish tacos for free with the purchase of any meal, combo, or platter on the holiday.

On the Border

For National Taco Day, On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina is offering a special of Endless Tacos for $10 through Sunday, October 13. Guests can choose from pulled chicken tinga and seasoned ground beef tacos when they dine in at participating On The Border restaurants. For an extra $3, you can upgrade to endless brisket or Southwest chicken tacos.

Qdoba

At the time of publishing, Qdoba hasn’t yet released the details on its National Taco Day deal, but we’re expecting the company to build on its existing Taco Tuesday special — a free taco with the purchase of an entrée. Last year, it also offered Qdoba rewards members 2x the points on purchases.
