'NCIS' Star Wilmer Valderrama Shares Emotional Note Ahead of the 1000th Episode
As NCIS celebrates a major TV milestone, Wilmer Valderrama has something to say.
The hit CBS drama is airing its 1,000th episode on April 15, which is set to drop numerous easter eggs from the past and see appearances from characters between NCIS, NCIS: Hawai'i and the since-ended NCIS: Los Angeles. Ahead of the massive event airing on the network, Wilmer (who plays Agent Nick Torres) posted the episode promo on Instagram for all his followers to see. While fans saw characters like Leroy Gibbs (Mark Harmon), Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and other faces from before in the snippet, the actor got emotional about how proud he is to have been part of such a global phenomenon.
"What a privilege to share the screen with all these amazing people, and a greater honor to be part of such an iconic legacy for #NCIS," he wrote on April 3. "Thank you to everyone that laid a brick in such a monumental moment for the number 1 TV franchise in the world! See you all April 15th for the 1,000 episode of the @ncisverse (Monday night on CBS)."
Given how Wilmer's note indicated how significant it was for NCIS to achieve this status in the world of TV, many longtime viewers took to the comments and share how much the franchise means to them.
"So glad I have followed along for so long to watch this family/series grow to what it is. I can't wait to watch it keep growing!" one person wrote in the comments. "What a FANtastic milestone. This fan is so thankful for ALL the cast and crew that have given us fans so much to enjoy! You ALL are 🔥," another replied. "So glad to be a loyal fan [through] it all 👏🔥🙌❤️," a different follower added.
Although Wilmer didn't exactly detail what Torres' involvement in the 1,000th episode will look like, CBS did divulge some details of what's to come for the plot.
According to an official press release, the installment (titled "A Thousand Yards") will follow the NCIS as they are under attack from an enemy harboring a mysterious past. Elsewhere in the episode, team director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) shares his reasons for staying with the unit with his son, despite the trials and dangers he goes through while on the job. And if that's not enough, Vanessa Lachey (from NCIS: Hawai'i) and Daniela Ruah (from NCIS: Los Angeles) will crossover in special appearances.
Looks like we need to tune in and see what this is all about!
