NDP leader's wife stuns in $300 dress at Junos
On Sunday, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and fashion designer Gurkiran Kaur walked their first red carpet together since tying the knot.
Stepping out for the 2018 Juno Awards, Singh opted for a formal black tux — but all eyes were on Kaur, who totally rocked a little black dress from Meg, an independent clothing line by Canadian designer Meghan Kinney.
At first glance, Kaur’s dress, which retails for $300, looks like the classic shift silhouette, but the waterfall fabric detail at the back adds a modern edge perfect for Canada’s biggest awards show.

After keeping their relationship intensely private, Singh proposed to Kaur in December 2017 in front of friends and family at a restaurant in downtown Toronto. The couple shared their engagement news on social media and were married earlier this year, celebrating with ceremonies in both Brampton, Ont. and Mexico.
As a designer and co-owner of jangiiro, a new-age Punjabi clothing line, Kaur blends her contemporary style with traditional pieces from Punjabi culture.
Although she’s only been in the public eye for a short time, Kaur’s fashion sense makes her one to watch.

Kaur wore her own designs during the couple’s second wedding ceremony in Cancun, Mexico. The bright colours and intricate design of Kaur’s traditional Pakistani sharara were the perfect choice to dance the night away in.

At the formal dinner for their wedding ceremony in Kaur’s hometown of Brampton, Ont., the bride wore a beautiful grey lehnga (skirt) with an embroidered blouse and silver chains accenting the low- cut back — also from her clothing line.
