Bradley Walsh's Beat The Chasers viewers left surprised by spin-off show's lively contestants
Beat the Chasers kicked off tonight (April 27), and it seemed to go down a treat with quiz show fans.
But it wasn't the exciting new format that they took to social media to discuss during the broadcast – it was the lively contestants.
Presented by Bradley Walsh, The Chase's eagerly-anticipated spin-off series aired its first episode on Monday.
It saw masterminds Mark 'The Beast' Labbett, Anne 'The Governess' Hegerty, Jenny 'The Vixen' Ryan, Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha and Shaun 'The Dark Destroyer' Wallace go up against a quartet of "interesting" brainy types.

Their task? Building up a prize fund during the familiar 'Cash Builder' round, before being offered higher amounts by the Chasers.
There was a catch when it came to the hopefuls' decisions though, because the more money they went for, the more pros they'd be forced to beat in a timed head-to-head.
First up, pharmaceutical wholesaler and marathon junkie Bernie Kingston gave Bradley a run for his money in the showboating stakes, with a spot-on impression of Michael Caine.
But he was booted out after he took on all five Chasers trying to bag £90,000.
Next was Father George, who rocked up in a religious robe but joked he was "a window cleaner" for a living and "likes a good scrap". Sadly though, he was eliminated too, having chosen to go up against two Chasers for £2,000.
Third, there was trainee paramedic and Trivia Pursuit extraordinaire Alex Wilson, who won £25,000 having taken on three Chasers.

Lastly, Sally Wilson joined Bradley on stage – who Shaun and Mark recognised as being a contestant from The Chase's first season and a former Mastermind semi-finalist. Viewers will have to tune in tomorrow night to see how well she fares against the best in the biz, however, as the broadcast was cut short.
"Have all of the contestants had a crate of red bull before the show? #BeatTheChasers," one viewer at home asked on Twitter, as another stated: "Interesting choice of contestants."
Celebrity Big Brother's India Willoughby chimed in too, tweeting: "What's going on with the contestants? Everyone's a bit weird."
Beat the Chasers continues tomorrow night (April 28) at 9pm on ITV.
