I Need the Next ‘Paradise’ Episode Drop Right Now
Esquire’s latest TV obsession is a new drama called Paradise. The series follows Secret Service agent Xavier Collins (Sterling K. Brown) as he deals with the fallout of the president’s (James Marsden) assassination. Behind the scenes lurks an even deeper conspiracy. Plus, there’s a twist at the end of the premiere episode that will absolutely blow your mind.
Paradise is created by Dan Fogelman, who last worked with Brown on the hit NBC drama This Is Us. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fogelman said that he conceived of Paradise as a series to unite viewers over “a big piece of commercial entertainment that had a great story behind it, and some great actors, which they are, and to keep people guessing what’s going to happen next, without necessarily having to have a conversation about things.” Just good, engaging TV. Is that too much of an ask?
The concept is working so far. In our review of the series, we called Paradise a true risk-taker that restored our faith in TV with one great twist. For everything else we know about Paradise, read on below.
How Do I Watch Paradise?
Disney+ premiered the first episode of Paradise on Sunday, 26 January, before quickly following up the pilot with two more episodes on Tuesday, 28 January. From there, the streamer plans to release weekly episodes every Tuesday until the finale on 4 March.
Paradise has yet to receive an official renewal for season 2, but Fogelman reportedly has plans for a three-season arc. As he told THR, he wants to switch up the tone of Paradise every season.
“I get frustrated by television shows that titillate and keep you guessing and have twists and turns but then don’t give you the answers at the end of your first break going off the air,” he said. “I want to provide a complete meal by the end of the episode for the audience that’s invested. Any question that people have after the first couple of episodes should be answered at the end of the eighth episode. Then a new question and journey will start that takes us into the second season."
