A Nobu-Branded Penthouse in Abu Dhabi Sold for a Record-Breaking $37.3 Million
Roughly four months after Nobu launched sales for its first branded residences in Abu Dhabi, one of the tower’s prized penthouses is already setting records.
A new record for the most expensive penthouse sold in the city has been set, as a not-yet-built aerie atop Nobu Residences Abu Dhabi sold for a whopping $37.3 million. When completed, the ultra-pricey pad will span the entire floor of the residential building and feature three bedrooms, a private swimming pool, a personal wellness retreat and fitness studio, and an expansive terrace with sweeping views of Saadiyat Beach.

“This milestone transaction at Nobu Residences not only sets a new benchmark for residential property in Abu Dhabi but also underscores the maturity of the real estate market,” said Talal Al Dhiyebi, group chief executive officer at real estate developer Aldar. “Year on year, we are seeing healthy increases in both the volume and value of homes purchased, driven by supportive government policies and initiatives that have increased the attractiveness of Abu Dhabi as a place where people want to live and see real opportunity for investment.”
Slated to reach completion in 2027, homes in the 88-unit tower will range between one- and three-bedroom apartments, two-bedroom lofts, penthouses, and sky villas. The starting price for the residences was set at AED 7 million (or roughly $1.9 million), and prior to the penthouse sale, a four-bedroom duplex villa was scooped up for a cool $35.4 million.
As expected of a premium development, residents will have access to a laundry list of exclusive amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center, a pool, a movie theater, and communal gardens. Along with the project’s residential offerings, there will also be a 125-key Nobu hotel, a Nobu restaurant, and a rooftop bar. When all is said and done, the beachfront development will span 12 acres. The project is in proximity to the nearly completed Guggenheim museum, designed by architect Frank Gehry, as well as the Louvre Abu Dhabi, Saadiyat Grove, and Mamsha Al Saadiyat.
“Our heartfelt congratulations go out to the team at Aldar and the new residents, and we express our gratitude to everyone involved in achieving this remarkable milestone,” added Trevor Horwell, chief executive officer at Nobu Hospitality. “With an exciting pipeline of locations, spanning from resort destinations to gateway cities, we are excited to be working with world-class developers, including Aldar, as we further expand our brand in the highly sought-after branded residences market.”
