It's official, Selena Gomez green lights the return of the slogan tee
When Kaia Gerber stepped out on a date night with Austin Butler a couple of weeks ago [17 July, to be specific] the outing was always going to make headlines. Yet, despite the excitement of seeing the rarely-photographed couple out and about together, it was actually Kaia's attire for the occasion that managed to be bigger news.
Sure, at first glance her navy blue baby tee paired with straight-leg tailored trousers and black suede heeled pumps is hardly newsworthy. It pales in comparison to the side boob-flashing leather dungarees, bikini tops and glitter dresses she can more commonly be found wearing for her day job as one of the world's most in-demand, top models. At most, it's a chic, albeit casual ensemble ideal for a trip to the theatre (a super cute date idea, btw).
But, take a closer look at Kaia's t-shirt and it's emblazoned with the slogan, ‘Come to my house I have great books.’ Cue every BookTok girl (us!) collectively losing it.
Need further confirmation the slogan t-shirt is officially back? Selena Gomez just shared a series of selfies on Instagram with the first snap in her carousel showing the singer-turned-actress modelling a green sleeveless iteration that reads ‘Pickle Princess’ in crystals across the chest.
While we have yet to track down Selena's top, Kaia's exact t-shirt will soon be available to buy via Library Science, the book club she launched alongside Alyssa Reeder. Though if you simply can't wait to get in on the look, there are plenty of slogan tees you can shop courtesy of the high street right now. Maybe with a slogan more appt to your own aesthetic?
Forget wearing your heart on your sleeve, try saying it on your shirt instead.
