‘Oh, They Got Shot’: Los Angeles Resident Narrates Protesters' Showdown With Police

A resident of Los Angeles, California, said he captured the moment police shot rubber bullets at two protesters standing next to each other on an otherwise deserted street on Saturday night, May 30.

The resident, Jackson Monroe, said he was standing in the entrance to his building in the downtown Los Angeles area when he shot the footage.

“They are just having a normal conversation, while at least a hundred cops are staring at them,” Monroe can be heard saying in the video uploaded to TikTok. The police then appear to approach the two men standing in the middle of the street. Monroe says, “Oh, they moving forward, they moving forward.”

Monroe then says he is “going back inside” but keeps filming the scene.
