When Ayo Edebiri walked down the Golden Globes red carpet last night, she turned heads with her Loewe pinstripe ensemble – an homage to Julia Roberts’ look back in 1990. But what truly made the beauty team do a double take was a blink-and-you-miss-it glint of metallic that glimmered with Edebiri’s every smile.

Yes, the 29 year-old actor debuted a fresh set of teeth jewellery; an unexpected move that’s rarely seen on the red carpets and one that skyrockets the Golden Globe nominee into beauty icon territory.
Edebiri’s custom set is hand sculpted by Vanessa Leon, a Florida-based artist and jewellery designer whose intricate pieces sees them working with organic shapes inspired by the natural world. Leon’s work celebrates the craftsmanship of Black Indigenous communities, and it’s refreshing to see Hollywood heavyweights such as Edebiri championing independent talent on the red carpet. To complement her slate grey suit, Edebiri went with a silver set that’s subtle yet impactful.
For the rest of her complexion, make-up artist Dee Carrion created a smokey, ‘90s vibe using Giorgio Armani Beauty.
‘I used the Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Foundation and Concealer for a smooth glowy skin-like finish,’ she writes on Instagram. A cocktail of Luminous Silk Cheek Tint in Flaming Red and Vivid Coral lent a peachy flush while the Luminous Glow Bronzer in 110 and 120 brought warmth and dimension.
To achieve the sultry cat-eye, Carrion combined Armani's Eye Tint in Wood, Ebony, Cashew and Desert. Meanwhile, hairstylist Jacob Aaron gave Edebiri a modern interpretation of Julia Robert’s voluminous locks with tight curls that appear full and bouncy.
Edebiri has been steadily experimenting with her beauty choices, with a focus on hair. She's previously sported oversized bows, wavy bobs and floral-encrusted updos. Her Golden Globes look signals a new direction in her beauty evolution, and we can't wait to see what she'll do next.
