One of the most photographed houses in Notting Hill for sale
One of the most photographed houses in Notting Hill is now for sale.
Known as Bank Robber House, the skinny pink property on Lonsdale Road was named after the art gallery, Bankrobber London, and has been used to sell work by Banksy, Russell Young, Pete Doherty and Ronnie Kray.
Originally built in 1890 as a stable, the current owner purchased the house in 2005 and spent years transforming it—including painting the exterior bright pink.
'When they painted it, [the owners] were rushing on a Friday evening. They didn't realise how bright a pink they were painting it until they woke up the next morning and saw it,' Jack Thomas, a Knight Frank agent, told The Standard.
'Everyone in the area apparently loved it, so other houses in Notting Hill have followed suit and gone for a similar colour. The owner said he thinks it's one of the most photographed houses in Notting Hill. He's had to kick people off his doorstep taking pictures for Instagram more times than he can remember.'
Inside, you'll find a distinctive brick arched ceiling above the dining area, a wrought iron staircase, two ornate fireplaces in the bedroom, and a private roof terrace for alfresco dining. The interior walls were once blush pink, but have since been painted white to make the space feel fresh and bright.
'It's very open plan: you go straight in with a full reception, kitchen and living room geared up for socialising. The owners have had some great parties there during Carnival over the years. It's a fun location and a really funky little house,' adds Jack.
Just a stone's throw from Portobello and Westbourne Grove, the picturesque street is ideally close to lively bars, restaurants and shops.
This property is currently on the market for £1,250,000 with Knight Frank.
