While their home is on a historical site, it lacked the charm Lois had experienced in their previous house. "My home was a typical new-build style in the U.K. — clinical, white walls, and gray carpets," she says of the space when they moved in. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
Being self-proclaimed "color-lovers," it's no surprise that the new-build quickly adopted a "maximalist vibe." Designing the space forced Lois to rethink her usual design choices. "This has meant moving away from colors and patterns we are familiar with and leaning to more modern colors and decorating techniques. It's been a big learning curve," she says. "We have an iconic leopard print sofa, which is by far our biggest inspiration for the rest of the house; it's fun, a statement, and packs a maximalist punch," Lois says. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
Since moving in, Lois admits that her proudest DIY is color-drenching the living and dining rooms. "It was a mammoth task and anyone who has done a big ceiling paint job knows the pain," Lois shares. "However, the result is impactful and well worth the effort." Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
Lois says most people ask about the sizeable ceramic leopard hand-painted in Italy. "A thing of beauty, and we have her right in the middle of the living room for an extra talking point," she explains. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois

The best purchase Lois had made since moving in was the Dusk dining table, which was a departure from their former vintage-looking table that didn't aesthetically fit the new-build house. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
"We absolutely love how stylish and modern our new circular table is, and it complements the style of the house perfectly," Lois shares. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
The home's layout is ideal for cultivating family time (Lois says whether it's eating dinner together or hanging out downstairs) or getting some solitude on the balcony or in the garden. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
"We sometimes sit out at night on the balcony with our fairy lights and candles lit to relax and enjoy the night sky," Lois says. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
When Lois' family toured the home, the top floor was used as a lounge area. However, they chose to use the space as their primary bedroom. (It's a bonus that the dreamy balcony is connected to the room.) Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
"The children then have the floor below to themselves, which works really well for us," Lois explains. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
While Lois has an antique Victorian bedding chest, she admits that most of their vintage furniture was sold because it doesn't fit the home's aesthetic. Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
Instead, more modern-looking pieces bring color and energy to the home. (And, of course, leopard print is celebrated throughout the space.) Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
"Our favorite element is our balcony, as it's such an unusual thing to find in the U.K., especially in a newly built home," Lois explains. "We plan to use it all year round as it's covered and is a much-needed quiet space within our busy home." Credit: LoisCredit: Lois
When Lois; her husband, Nick; two sons, Nolen and Heath; and cats, Dottie and Lexie, moved into their four-bedroom house in Macclesfield, U.K., it took some adjusting to.
While the three-story house has gorgeous details, like a balcony (which Lois says is a rarity in the U.K.), verdant trees outside, and being a quick walk away from town, it was much different than their previous home. The family moved from “a small, much older property steeped in character,” (which Apartment Therapy actually toured) to a newer space, in which Lois used the words “clinical, white walls, and gray carpets” to describe the original home. But even though the house’s bones are new, it’s situated on a historic site.
“Our home is a new build on a development that was previously the site of a prestigious private boys’ school,” Lois explains. “The area is steeped in local history and includes an iconic landmark — the King’s Gate. We loved how the development incorporated the history of the site with the modern eco-design of the houses.”
But moving into a home that might not initially have had the character Lois was used to proved to be an exciting design challenge. “This has meant moving away from colors and patterns we are familiar with and leaning toward more modern colors and decorating techniques. It’s been a big learning curve,” she admits.
Since buying the house eight months ago, it’s fair to say that Lois has made her mark on the space. Each room is dotted with vibrant colors and, of course, leopard print (the pattern dedicated to her social media namesake) throughout.

MAGAworld pounced on Kaitlan Collins again—this time, she hit back. Days after President Donald Trump mocked CNN’s chief White House correspondent to her face, conservatives blasted Collins over an X post that linked to a website for Luigi Mangione, the suspected shooter of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson. “Luigi Mangione’s legal defense team has launched a new website today,” Collins wrote, followed by a link to the website. While the site includes updates about Mangione’s legal saga, it al

U.S. President Donald Trump's claim that his country subsidizes Canada with hundreds of billions of dollars every year has become a key plank in his argument for annexing the country. But do his numbers add up?His argument hinges on a belief that the deficit in trade between the two countries has left the U.S. footing the bill for Canada's economic growth. The amount of "subsidy" Trump claims the U.S. provides Canada has varied over time. In December, he said it was $100 billion US. And he claime
"I worked in the army hospital on Ft. Lewis. A woman came in for belly pain, and we found out and told her she was 10 weeks pregnant. The husband at the bedside started laughing, grabbed his coat, and left the room, explaining to us that he had been in Afghanistan until three weeks prior. He looked back at her and just said, 'Well, that’s that Brittany.'"
Jerry Seinfeld swiftly shut down an activist in a video published Sunday, telling him he doesn’t “care about Palestine.” In the clip, posted by Instagram provocateur and ambush interview specialist Subway DJ, the internet personality can be seen going up to the comedian and asking if he wanted to take a selfie. It appears that the video was taken outside an event celebrating the 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live at Radio City Music Hall Friday night.
Conservative lawyer and anti-MAGA activist George Conway took to MSNBC on Saturday morning to alert viewers that President Donald Trump’s interference with the judicial process has pushed the nation’s prosecutors to the brink of mutiny. “We’re seeing a Justice Department, including the FBI, that is on the edge of a full-scale revolt,” Conway said. Conway’s former wife, Kellyanne Conway, served as an adviser to Trump during his first term. The couple’s opposing views attracted considerable media
