After only 2 and a half years, this Italian spot from New York is closing in Miami Beach

Osteria Morini, the Italian restaurant from the New York-based Altamarea Group, is closing for good in Miami Beach.

The restaurant, which had only been open two and a half years in the Kimpton Hotel Palomar South Beach, announced in a statement that it would be closing on July 31.

The brand’s statement listed its accomplishments and thanked its guests:

“In our short tenure, we were delighted and honored to receive so much recognition and acclaim, including Best Italian Restaurant and Best Brunch by the Miami New Times, as well as one of the Top 15 best Italian restaurants in Miami by Thrillist, Eater, and The Infatuation.

“However, due to extenuating factors out of our control, we must sadly close our doors at the end of the month. We would like to express our sincerest gratitude to our loyal guests for their warm welcome and support.”

The restaurant’s statement went on to say that the brand is “optimistic about new possibilities” and that it is searching for a new location for Osteria Morini in South Florida. There are Osteria Morini locations in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey and Washington, D.C.

Guests that still have gift cards can use them at any other Altamarea Group properties, although Osteria Morini was the only property in Florida. The group’s properties include its Michelin-star restaurants Marea and Ai Fiori in New York.
