I Only Want to Wear These Elevated PJ Pants From Now On
Editors' Picks are the Fashionista team's true (#notspon) fashion and beauty obsessions, handpicked by professionals who see it all.
I'm a longtime fan of Donni, the laid-back loungewear brand that melds comfort and coziness with a chic, minimalist sensibility. The label pretty reliably puts out clothing I look at and just want to wear — and that's certainly the case with its latest summer collection.
I scooped up a pair of the Simple Silky Pants ahead of my honeymoon in May (pro tip: always travel with a wrinkle release spray, especially when silky or linen-y fabrics are involved!). And now I have my sights set on the Linen Crop Stripe Pant, a similarly pajama-esque silhouette, rendered in three different earthy linen colorways, with track pants-like racing stripes on the sides.
A brand photo (above) depicts models wearing the pants, strolling barefoot through a grassy expanse, hair in loose waves. It looks like a peaceful, carefree cult, and it's a vibe I wouldn't mind channeling myself this summer.
While I love all three of the colors — black, celery green and chocolate brown — I'm especially drawn to the latter ("Walnut"), mainly because I see it offering the most versatility. And while some might see these expressly as a sick-day-only, can't-wear-hard-pants-today option, I'd want to dress them up sometimes, too. Yes, they'd be great as a coverup over a bathing suit or with flat sandals for a day filled with lots of walking; but I can also see wearing them with heels, a more structured top and ample jewelry for a less casual occasion as well.
