This time around was no different. Oprah's Favorite Things list for 2024 is packed with fun finds for your closet (a layered cashmere sweater!), pantry (Spanish olive oil!) and medicine cabinet (whipped body butter!), but as a home editor, I was most excited about the kitchenware and decor. Though the home picks include everything from a knife set to a fluffy blanket, they all have that "quiet luxury" aesthetic that's so popular right now.
Is it any surprise that the items Oprah chose look sophisticated and high-end? Of course not, but what did surprise me is that the goodies start at only $30. Scroll for all the fabulous home finds and if you spot something you like, act fast because Oprah's favorite things usually become everyone's favorite things — so they tend to sell out.
These substantial mugs are handmade, which gives each one a special, slightly rustic look. The speckled design and subtle colors (in addition to terracotta, they also come in gray, white and black) mean they'll never go out of style.
Oprah says: "Ayesha Curry, founder of Sweet July, understands that some of us want our hot coffee (or hot chocolate) to be just that — hot. And is there a better-looking option than these 16-ounce hand-thrown ceramic mugs?”
Candles are instant mood makers, and this hand-poured pick comes in a rustic ceramic jar that'll look fabulous on your mantel long after the wax has burned away.
Oprah says: "Enjoy the scents in these small-batch artisanal candles — made with natural earth pigments sourced from Morocco, France and the U.S. — for over 90 hours.”
What to get for the home cook who has it all? Go for something classic and durable — this pot holder collection is quilted from denim and just like a great pair of Levi's, it'll stand the test of time.
Oprah says: "Who else but a former jeans designer would come up with this good-looking and useful set? The recycled denim pan-handle holder, oven mitt and trivet mean no person (or counter) will be injured in the making of your next hot dish.”
One of the key elements of quiet luxury is quality: Think elevated basics that will last a lifetime. That goes for everything, but especially items you use on the daily like kitchen tools. This kit includes a wood-handled spatula, a sleek metal peeler and a potato masher, just the ticket for holiday meal prep!
Oprah says: “Friends or family who value a job well done will appreciate this mashed potato tool set — a peeler, masher and spatula will help ensure the perfect spuds every time. For the cook who has (almost) everything.”
Colorful glassware is all the rage, and the unique design of these coupes gives them a vintage charm that's hard to resist. Each set includes six delightful shades: cranberry, blue, gray, beige, forest green and orange. Mimosas, anyone?!
Oprah says: “This set of six pretty champagne coupes — in the shape of delicate blossoming flowers — is just one more reason to raise a glass this holiday season. Savvy hosts will serve sorbet or sundaes in them come summer.”
Treat your favorite host with the most to a serving set made from beautifully grained, sustainably sourced wood. The handled cutting board is an heirloom in the making!
Oprah says: "Charcuterie aficionados (and I consider myself one) will appreciate this substantial two-sided cutting board — chop on the flat side, serve on the scooped side. It comes with utensils, a pizza cutter and a mezzaluna.”
This is one of the coolest looking diffusers I have ever seen — leave it on a shelf and someone might mistake it for a bookend or objet. The ceramic stunner comes with a bottle of essential oil in a fresh cotton / bergamot scent.
Oprah says: “Why is this sleek diffuser so great? Because you can schedule it to turn on from your phone, which means that when you walk through the door each night, your home will smell like a five-star hotel.”
A plush blanket is key for prime coziness, and this beauty comes in lovely colors to complement your home, including mineral blue (shown), forest green and cream.
Oprah says: “This double-sided faux-fur throw is beyond soft and looks great, whether it’s draped over a sofa, a bed — or your favorite person who’s always cold."
Talk about a cut above: This graphic set features German stainless steel knives (and a 7-inch fork for carving that turkey!) with stunning pakkawood handles. It's all housed in an eye-catching block that would be the star of any kitchen.
Oprah says: "This women-owned business originally developed this line for a culinary school. Now chefs and cooking newbies can appreciate the balance and heft of each blade and how great the block looks on their counter.”
