Oreo Finally Brought Back the Cookie Fans Call 'The Best Flavor Ever'

No matter the season, it’s always the right time for s’mores. Whether you’re cozying up next to the fire with traditional gooey ones, taking a less messy route with an ice cream cone version, or putting your oven to work with easy s’mores bars–they're guaranteed to be tasty.

The main ingredients—graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate—often stay the same, but there’s always room for creativity. You can stuff them with Reese’s cups for a peanut butter twist, swap the graham crackers for gourmet chocolate cookies, or take a note from Simone Biles and wrap them in chocolate chip cookie dough for an over-the-top treat.

And if you want to enjoy the flavors of the warm weather snack without the hassle of a roaring fire, there are plenty of grocery store options to satisfy your cravings. Last year, Ocean Spray dropped a s’mores snack mix, and Breyers launched a frosty take on the traditionally warm dessert.

Now, Oreo is bringing back its popular campfire-inspired cookie, but the nostalgic flavor won’t be around for long.

S’moreo Cookies Return to Stores for a Limited Time

In 2015, Oreo dropped one of its most iconic flavor combos. S’mores Oreos, as they were referred to in the initial launch, were an instant hit with fans. The cookies were later rereleased in 2021 and, most recently, in 2023, with the name fans had been calling them from the start: S’moreos.

Now, a decade after their debut, the cookies are headed back to stores, but only for a limited time.

S’moreos feature two-toned chocolate and marshmallow creme filling sandwiched between two golden graham-flavored cookies. Each bite is filled with all your favorite s’mores flavors but in a much more convenient, portable form.

Social media is buzzing with excitement over the returning cookie, with many fans calling for the brand to stock them year-round. "Best flavor ever. I wish these would be permanent!" wrote one Instagrammer. "My wishes have been answered!" exclaimed another.

Food insider @markie_devo shared a photo of the package, and fans raced to the comment section to share their thoughts. "I’m freaking out," wrote one person who shares a user name with the returning cookies. "Yayyyyy! Let's go! I'm definitely trying this because s'mores are my forever love. I just know it's going to be amazing!" said one fan. Another user had a creative idea to make the cookies campfire-friendly. "Dunk them in some [marshmallow] fluff and throw it over the fire next-level s’mores!" they suggested.
