Ousted 'Vanderpump Rules' Star Rachel Leviss Just Made Her NYFW Runway Debut
“It makes me feel empowered."
It's been almost a year since "Scandoval" captured the attention of reality TV fans and the general public alike. For months, it was nearly impossible to go on social media without seeing the Vanderpump Rules cast members on our screens, specifically Rachel Leviss and Tom Sandoval, who were ultimately responsible for the internet-breaking scandal. After news broke of their months-long affair, Leviss took some time away from the spotlight to focus on herself and her mental health.
Now, the former beauty pageant queen is making her return to the public eye in a major way. On Thursday, Leviss made her New York Fashion Week debut during the GLAUDI by Johana Hernandez presentation. In images obtained by People, Leviss can be seen modeling a red bedazzled dress with side cutouts.
“It was a very difficult time for me,” Leviss told the publication, reflecting on the fall out from Scandoval (coined by Bravo fans) — some of which was captured on camera for the show. “I felt like I wasn't going to get through it at some moments, and so I'm just so happy that I'm able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and finally reintegrate into the real world.”
“I'm proud of how far I've come," she continued. "I've been working really hard on making sure I'm putting my mental health first and really putting myself first.”
Leviss's runway debut comes after the premiere of her new podcast Rachel Goes Rogue in January. The reality star told outlet that putting herself back out there has been very "empowering."
“It makes me feel empowered,” she said. “I feel like I've overcome a lot of difficulties this past year and I finally get to start living life again, so it feels really good.”
