I am an adult — but you probably wouldn't be able to tell this from my bedding. For years, I've pretty much stuck to the sale section of H&M — but recently, I've been wanting to upgrade to more high-quality options that are sustainably made, especially since my bed doubles as my home office most days.

I trialed Parachute's Organic Textured Duvet Cover Set, as well as their Organic Cotton Fitted Sheet, and I think it's safe to say I'm a Grown Up Bedding convert. The cotton sheets are ultra-soft and feel cool to the touch — a must for sweaty sleepers like me.

I tried this gorgeous duvet set in the colour Reed, which is a mid-grey that would fit in with pretty much any setup — it looks great with my wooden bed frame.

I was initially drawn to the patterned weave of the textured duvet set, but I was worried the heavier cotton would feel too hot in my apartment, which seems to never dip below 24 C even with the windows open in the winter. However I was pleasantly surprised to see that the underside is plain cotton, so it has that same cool-to-the-touch feeling the sheets have.

While I still think I'll switch out for something lighter-weight in the summer (I'm eyeing this linen set), I'm looking forward to cozying up in this sumptuous textured set until warm weather finally arrives.

Like Hilary, I've also recently made the switch to "grown-up bedding" after a lifetime of cheap Ikea sheets. While they're by no means necessary, the luxurious feel of higher quality bedding has definitely improved my sleep, and I found that Parachute's Organic Textured Duvet Cover Set and Organic Cotton Fitted Sheet were no exception to that rule.

It might be because the first night I slept in my new sheets was the first night back in my own bed after a two-week vacation, but they were a major hit with me and my fiancé alike. He tends to run warm at night while I'm usually cold, and we both enjoyed the thicker weight of the duvet cover.

Prices for this duvet set are on the higher end (they start at $419 for a Queen), but compared to inexpensive options there is definitely a difference in the quality of the fabrics. If you're considering investing in a luxurious bedding option, this set is a great way to test out the waters. If you'd rather not diving fully in just yet, you can also check out the brand's Percale cotton collection instead.

Poll: What colour should I paint my walls?
Poll: What colour should I paint my walls?

As someone who almost solely uses sheets that have been given to me by relatives, I was very excited to try out bedding that wasn't ordered from the now-defunct Sears catalogue.

I am a big interiors gal, and I found the Organic Textured Duvet Cover Set in Natural to be very in-line with my Pinterest board visions. Its textured organic cotton feels luxuriously soft, and I like that the neutral colour will still look good when I inevitably swap out all of my decor in another six months.

Additionally, the Organic Cotton Fitted Sheet hugs my mattress beautifully and helps keep me cool at night when I snuggle up with my mountain of pillows and blankets.

There are only a few things in life that I'm good at— and one of them is sleeping. I'm talking Olympian level of endurance to sleep for 14 hours straight, the Meryl Streep of naps; it's a gift. I try to make my bedroom as conducive to a good night's sleep as possible by making it a space with minimal screen-time (no TV in the bedroom), dim lighting and fresh bedding at least once a week. The final step in creating an inviting bed turns out to be adding Parachute's Organic Textured Duvet Cover to your bedding collection.

I was skeptical given the price tag of some of Parachutes pieces, especially for King size bedding, but I'm a believer. The bedding is so lightweight, so soft and cozy and adds an element of liveable luxury to your bedding that makes you want to curl up in bed for no reason at 1 p.m.

As someone with two fairly large dogs, I was pleasantly surprised by the durability of the sheets and duvet cover and how well they wash— because anything that looks nice, but isn't practical really has no place in my home.

I'm definitely a Parachute fan and looking to expand my bedding collection with their coverlets and quilts - and am even thinking of purchasing some pieces for our nursery ahead of our son's arrival this summer.

If you're weary of the price tag —I get it. These are definitely investment pieces for your home and space that with proper care, you can use for years to come. If you're a newlywed or newly-engaged, Parachute bedding would be a great addition to your bridal registry or even baby shower registry (wink wink).

They're worth every penny — when you have the pennies to spend.
