New Parents Drive from Florida to Maryland to Leave 5-Month-Old Baby on Grandparents' Doorstep (Exclusive)
Quincie Pullen and her husband, Zach, drove two days from Florida to Maryland to pull off the surprise visit to her family home
Quincie Pullen and her husband, Zach, decided to surprise her parents and sister by knocking on their door and leaving their then-5-month-old daughter on the porch to greet them.
When they arrived, Pullen's parents had a priceless reaction, but her sister Lauren — who had yet to meet the infant — was moved to tears to see her niece for the first time.
Pullen and Zach shared the video on their TikTok account, capturing the hearts of more than 14.6 million viewers on the app.
Quincie Pullen's family wasn't expecting to see her infant daughter on their doorstep, but they reacted to the unexpected visitor as if they'd been waiting forever.
TikTok creator Pullen and her husband, Zach, decided to drive 15 hours from their residence in Florida to her parents' home in Maryland to fulfill a longtime dream. "I've always wanted to surprise my family with our baby sitting on the [front] porch and we finally did it!" Pullen captioned her TikTok from their sweet visit.
In the video — which has more than 14.6 million views on the app — Zach can be seen knocking on the door after setting the infant's car seat directly in front of the home. Pullen's father is the first of the family to step outside and greet baby Ella Capri, who arrived in January 2024.
"Oh my gosh. Are you kidding me? What are you doing here?" he coos at his granddaughter. Both of Pullen's parents had already met the infant when she was born, but the surprise visit marked a first-time introduction for Pullen's sister Lauren and her brand new niece.
Lauren can be seen crying out with joy as she kneels down to look at Ella. At the end of the clip, the emotional aunt contains her excitement enough to hold the baby.
Pullen tells PEOPLE her sister waited a long time for that moment: "She was so shocked when we showed up to the house. She was actually supposed to fly out later in the month to meet her, but we decided to surprise her instead!" the new mom says.
It took Pullen and Zach two days to drive from their home in St. Petersburg, Fla., to her parent's place in Maryland. They split up the trip to make it an easier journey for Ella.
"We planned this trip about a week before leaving," Pullen explains. "We originally booked last-minute flights but we were too excited that we decided to just drive the 15 hours instead to get there a day earlier."
As she wrote in her caption, Pullen was so happy to make her dream come true and shock her parents and sibling with a baby on their doorstep. In fact, the roadtrip surprise is a long-held tradition for Pullen and her loved ones.

"Growing up, we would always road trip to go surprise our families that lived in different states by showing up at their doorstep," she says, adding, "I always remember their [reactions] being so emotional and sweet!"
She continues, "I feel like it’s something that’s just built in me to want to surprise my family in my adulthood and now, being a mom, this is definitely something I envisioned that we would do one day."
