The Paris Olympics have officially come to a close and we’ve finally passed the finish line.

It’s hard to believe that after two weeks of history-defining and meme-able moments, the Games is finally over, and we have just over two weeks until we’re greeted to another round of athletic greatness with the Paralympic Games.

Of course, the City of Love had to finish in style, with athletes and fans gathering at the Stade de France, with the Olympic flame being passed over from Paris to the next Games’ hosts, Los Angeles.

Here are the most important moments you might have missed from the Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony:

Numerous athletes tripped over the ceremony carpet

Inside the Stade de France, several athletes almost took an unexpected tumble on walking out onto the carpet-covered pitch, much to the amusement of viewers.

One user wrote on X: ‘Someone needs to put a health and safety warning on the carpet.’

Another said: ‘Closing ceremony is going well three people have tripped at the same spot already.'

‘Obsessed with everyone tripping over at the #closingceremony’ another added.

The actor was seen propelling himself down from the top of the stadium before receiving the Olympic flag from Team USA gymnast Simone Biles and LA mayor Karen Bass. He then proceeded to drive driving through the Parisian streets on the back of a motorbike, jumped off the back of a plane, and turned the Hollywood sign into the Olympic rings.

The segment, which was largely filmed in advance of the ceremony, led many viewers to question whether the Hollywood sign is currently decorated with the Olympic rings, which we can confirm is untrue.
