PatBo Continues to Dominate Going-Out Dressing

Staged at the architectural Surrogate's Court, PatBo's Fall 2024 collection is an ode to women at the highest degree.

"This collection is a tribute to all women that work with me and inspire me, [such as] my artisans [and] every woman that I'm inspired by," designer Patricia Bonaldi told Fashionista. "It's about women, made by women for women."

As the lights dimmed and the music began, before the first model came down the steps of the grand stairway, guests were treated to a surprise ballet performance. The first look — a white, one-shoulder, mid-riff baring, ankle-length dress — hinted at what would follow: ultra-sexy dresses ranging from sheer paneled minis, lace maxis and figure-hugging cocktail numbers.

The brand plays with new textures and embellishments, swapping the typical crystals and splashy beading in favor of three-dimensional weaving, flouncy ruffles and fluid tassel work. It's a masterclass on sexy opulence, perfectly balancing sultriness with softness. Bonaldi also ditched the vibrant hues for black and white.

"For me, it's just showing that femininity is not the same as vulnerability," the designer said. "Showing that your femininity doesn't make you weak is an important message for me."
