Patrick And Brittany Mahomes Welcome Baby No. 3
Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have expanded their family, and their newborn’s name is the perfect icing on the cake.
On Monday, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, 29, and the Kansas City Current co-owner, also 29, announced in a joint Instagram post that they’d welcomed their third baby, daughter Golden Raye Mahomes, over the weekend.
“Golden Raye Mahomes • 1/12/25,” the pair captioned their post.
The accompanying photo shows two tiny baby feet near a sign that reads “Golden Raye.”
Golden’s name fits what seems to be a pattern for the Mahomes family, whose two older children ― Sterling Skye, 3, and Patrick “Bronze” Lavon, 2 ― likewise have names or nicknames related to metals. Patrick and Brittany Mahomes welcomed Sterling in February 2021 and Bronze in November 2022.
The family’s affinity for metallic monikers also extends to their pups, who are named Silver and Steel.
Last July, Brittany announced in an Instagram post that she and Patrick were expecting a third baby.
“Round three, here we come,” the parents wrote, alongside clips of them showing off sonogram images with an excited Sterling and Bronze during a photo shoot.
In a follow-up post just days later, Patrick and Brittany revealed the gender of their third baby.
“Baby Mahomes #3 is a....💙🩷,” they captioned the post, which showed them announcing they were having another girl through a family game of tic-tac-toe.
In October 2022, the three-time Super Bowl MVP opened up about fatherhood during an episode of “Football in America.”
“I’m going to help teach my son, my daughter, all the fundamentals [about sports] and whatever they want to learn,” Patrick explained. “But at the same time, I want to stay out of the way and let it be about them.”
“That’s what my dad did growing up, that’s what my parents did,” he added. “They let it be about me, let me out there and have fun, they didn’t pressure me to do anything. I think that’s why I’m in the position I am today.”
