Paul Anka’s French-Inspired Home Inside a Posh SoCal Country Club Lists for $9.8 Million
Few residences place you next to a championship 18-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus, or as PGA fans call him, “the Golden Bear.” But Canadian-American singer Paul Anka’s French-inspired estate in SoCal’s buzzy Sherwood Country Club does. The nearly six-acre mountain-view spread just outside of Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks, about 42 miles west of downtown L.A., is listed for $9.8 million by Stuart Vetterick of Westside Estate Agency. Built in 2006, the two-story Stafford Road mansion sits on one of the “largest private lots in Sherwood,” the listing notes.
Anka, a former mentee of Frank Sinatra and collaborator of the late Michael Jackson, bought the property in 2007 for $4 million, and a flurry of headlines ensued when he brought it to market 16 years later, in 2023, for $10 million. Despite its beautifully redesigned kitchen and professional recording studio, the house sat on the market for two years before recently seeing a $200,000 price cut aimed to sweeten the deal.

Beyond the gated drive, more than six cars can be comfortably accommodated in the grand motor court. Dual formal living rooms are just off the foyer, one currently displaying gold records, while a vibrant orange animates the other, alongside designer lighting and French windows. The formal dining room seats about ten people beside a marble-clad fireplace and bi-fold doors that open out to an alfresco dining spot, while wooden cabinetry highlights the spacious remodeled chef’s kitchen that’s open to a family room with easy access to a covered patio.
Dark wood flooring and a wood-burning fireplace are featured in the primary suite with balcony views of the sun-soaked mountains. There are two en-suite marble baths, one with a steam shower. A hidden office, a billiards room, and a recording studio are other notable elements
The manicured areas of the property include a covered patio with black and white checkerboard tile pavers, clipped hedges and low-maintenance faux grass, an infinity pool with lots of room for sun loungers, and a glass-walled pavilion with a gym and outdoor shower.
If spotting celebs on the links was a drinking game, everyone would be pie-eyed at the Sherwood Country Club, where Sylvester Stallone, Caitlyn Jenner, Sean Connery, Will Smith, Jane Seymour, and Tom Selleck are all known to have been members.
