Paul Mescal Included in the Season Two Line-Up for Louis Theroux's Podcast
British documentary maker and TV personality Louis Theroux has launched the second series of his self-titled podcast -- and he's welcomed Paul Mescal as his first guest.
Alongside Mescal, listeners can also anticipate the appearances of critically-acclaimed director, Baz Lurhman, as well as actress Sharon Stone, musician PinkPantheress, and podcaster Adam Buxton.
For his first episode with Paul Mescal, who is known for his breakout role as Connell Waldron in the TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s Normal People, Theroux reflects on Mescal's career, discussing how he quickly rose to fame while also earning Bafta and Emmy recognitions. Mescal also touches on his childhood and the impact social media has had on his life and mental health.
Additionally, the conversation touches on how Mescal had to deal with the recurring mistake of people referring to him as British when he is in fact Irish. He goes on to explain how it stirred up a viral conversation on Twitter and how “he had to quote a headline on Twitter to tell people I was Irish, it was apparently the most retweeted Tweet on Irish Twitter that year."
You can listen to the latest season of the Louis Theroux podcast on Spotify now, with new episodes available to tune into every Tuesday.
