Paulina Gretzky's long-awaited magazine interview is out, revealing more about her family, health and career goals.

She was on the cover of KIND Magazine's newly released issue, featuring an exclusive interview titled "Growing up Gretzky." In it, the daughter of NHL legend Wayne Gretzky got candid about her past — and her aspirations.

The magazine wrote Gretzky has "intentionally waited her whole life for her closeup." She grew up in the spotlight, being the daughter of the hockey star and actress Janet Jones, and went on to marry golf superstar Dustin Johnson.

"She says she admits feeling society's tug for her attention, but intuited, for her family, that she had to be patient before telling the universe who she intended to be... 'I had to find myself — find my true happiness, first,'" the magazine wrote and quoted Gretzky.

The model, who lives in North Palm Beach, Fla. with Johnson and their two children, aged eight and five, said family has always come first and above all. But after working as a model, a designer and being a mother and lifestyle influencer, she's opening up to the public with a lesson learned.

"I was stuck in this, 'What is Paulina Gretzky going to do?' But like, I don't always know and it's OK to not know — not many of us do — but at the same time, I like who I am — I love who I am — and I'm ready to venture out now," Gretzky said in the interview with KIND Magazine.

The magazine issue featured glammed-up photos of Gretzky from photographer Adam Franzino. Gretzky was seen rocking her recently-revealed bob haircut and a bronze makeup.

One photo showed Gretzky in a cleavaged white bodysuit on a tennis court, while another showed off her figure in a black one-piece bathing suit on a beach.

Franzino also photographed the model sitting on the sandy beach, wearing nothing but a straw hat.

Gretzky admitted to KIND Magazine she had to rebuild her confidence after delivering two children.

"Pregnancy was tough and I'm not going to lie, adjusting to my new body, it took a toll," she said. "I realized I had to pull myself out of this for my children. But then I realized again, that that wasn't quite right either — I had to pull myself out of it for my relationship with Dustin. I had to pull myself out of it for me."

Setting an example as a family

In the interview with KIND, Gretzky said her parents "set an amazing example and it comes down to paying attention and treating each other kindly, being present." She also pointed out "how great Dustin is with our kids."

The magazine wrote she was "originally nervous to start a family with a professional golfer, someone who spends half of his life out of a suitcase, competing in tours. But... what she sees in Dustin is patience, attention, tenderness and care."

She revealed it all comes down to trust.

"The example I set for my kids with Dustin is we have to do it together. We're not always on the same page, but we trust each other enough so that I know he's doing right by our children and he knows I'm doing right by our kids."

Gretzky also told KIND their kids are being raised with no ego.

"It was funny seeing the kids realize who their dad is, and who my dad is, but we don't want them to be raised differently. Of course we want them to know that they're special, everyone is. But around the house, my dad is grandpa and Dustin is dad."

'No start and end' to Gretzky

Gretzky revealed to KIND she regularly uses CBD (cannabidiol) to help with sleep.

"CBD has been life changing," she told the magazine. "It helps my body relax and since sleeping is so vital to everyone's health and overall wellness, after the first time I tried CBD, I never looked back. It's definitely part of my overall health and wellness routine."

The model and mom said she's focused on a healthy lifestyle, including healthy eating and other wellness practices. Even though she has her "good and bad days," KIND reported, she's feeling "empowered and comfortable," it said.

"As you get older, you realize it's about consistency, making little changes and not becoming overwhelmed. Focus on one goal at a time and take care of yourself. You have to tell yourself: 'You're worthy, you're perfect, you've got this,'" Gretzky said in KIND.

These days, Gretzky is figuring out what she wants to do with her platform — including over a million Instagram followers. According to KIND, she might "go into television or return to the movies. Maybe she'll cut a record, release a CBD line or work on her own designs."

Gretzky told the magazine she isn't hard on herself.

"There's no start and end to me, if I want to start now, I can... I think now's the time for my new chapter—not a new me, but a me that's evolving. I want to help in any way possible, especially when it comes to sending positivity and love."
