Paulina Porizkova, 58, shares 'disappointing, ridiculous' hate comments on her age
The supermodel cited a lack of representation of a real aging process.
Paulina Porizkova is slamming haters who have left her ageist comments targeting her appearance.
The 58-year-old supermodel took to Instagram on Thursday with screenshots of "ridiculous" comments from other app users.
"Very wrinkled for somebody that was in the beauty and fashion industry," one of the comments read.
"She looks old for 58," a person wrote, while another added Porizkova "would look 30 years younger" if she dyed her hair.
Porizkova penned a response in the caption, citing a lack of representation of a real aging process.
"For all the thousands of lovely comments — there are also plenty of these," she wrote, adding she "apparently" looks 70 and over.
"In some way, I get it. Women in the public eye with wrinkles do not exist until they hit their seventies."
She continued: "It seems online you're a smooth youthful woman until you fall of a cliff and resurface as a crone. That is, the wrinkled white haired bonafide old woman."
Porizkova added she suspects that a lack of representation is "why these people need to tell me how very old I look."
She, herself, isn't "entirely sure what a woman my age is 'supposed' to look like," she wrote. "I only know how I look."
Her followers were shocked to read some of the comments, and praised the model for staying true to herself.
"How embarrassing to even type this basic s— out, let alone to be another woman speaking like this," one Instagram user wrote.
"You are perfection, inside and out… my role model and icon," model Carolyn Murphy added.
"These comments are so disappointing, ridiculous, and not to mention entirely wrong," someone commented.
"Women are allowed to grow older unashamedly and however they wish. I think it’s wonderful you continue to show up unapologetically and fabulously you."
