It's rare to come across a skincare product that's accessible, affordable and works for a number of different skin types. But, this cost-effective cleanser checks the boxes, and you can get it on the cheap at Sephora Canada's annual Holiday Savings Event.
On now through Nov. 7, All Sephora Insiders can save up to 20 per cent on pretty much everything (depending on your level of access).
If you're like me and lean more on the combination-dry side (not necessarily acne-prone), you might like to use a mix of physical and chemical exfoliants to address your skin. The Peace Out Cleansing Balm contains both at levels that support your skin's moisture barrier.
If you've been on the hunt for a cleanser that gets rid of impurities, balances oils and refines pores all without drying the hell out of your skin, this nifty formula might be up your alley.
Basically, the Peace Out Cleansing Balm is giving face "scrub" a new reputation. Read on to learn how.
Peace Out Cleansing Balm
The details
When it comes to skincare trends, scrubs are so yesterday.
Unfortunately, there are several scrubs on the market that have done more harm than good to people's skin, especially when they're marketed with misleading instructions. Some contain plastic microbeads that can actually create micro-tears in the skin.
As a result, "exfoliant" is now used to describe both physical and chemical solutions. In my opinion, Peace Out's Cleansing Balm does an incredible job of gently buffing and cleansing the skin without causing any damage. In fact, I found it gives that newly "scrubbed" feeling on top rehydrating my face, leaving no trace of redness or irritation behind.
That could be because it contains a blend of hyaluronic and amino acids, as well as ceramides to replenish the skin's moisture barrier. To minimize the appearance of pores and even out the complexion, the Cleansing Balm incorporates salicylic acid and niacinamide too.
I think it's important to note that as someone who tests droves of products, it's a constant search to find something I actually want to use until the last drop. That said, I scraped the container of my Cleansing Balm clean.
What shoppers are saying
While I'm quite the fan of Peace Out as a brand and this cleanser, 83 per cent of Sephora shoppers that reviewed the product would recommend it as well.
"Absolutely love this cleanser. I typically have sensitive and reactive skin so I find it hard to use any type of exfoliant on my face. This has done wonders," one reviewer said.
Another customer confirmed that the Cleansing Balm is light enough for everyday use.
"Love this cleansing balm. Makes my skin smooth and exfoliate the dead skin daily. My skin is very sensitive but never had any trouble so far," they wrote. "I’ve been using it for 4 months so far and it’s my one of must-have items!"
"Ah-mazing! Literally my favourite skincare product of the past 5 years. I’m left feeling clean and scrubbed without the stripping and dryness," another reviewer said.
It makes my list of faves too.
