Penguins take part in first swimming lesson at Dudley Zoo
A group of penguins have been given their first swimming lessons at Dudley Zoo.
Humboldt penguins Michael and Jaws waddled and splashed around with keepers as they got to grips with being in the water.
Staff named the penguins as one likes “doing a moonwalk”, while the other is “a little snappy.”
Keepers now hope to gradually introduce the youngsters to the rest of the colony.
Humboldt penguins are highly suited to aquatic life, with a streamlined body, webbed feet, and eyes adapted for underwater vision.
